Neonatal acne is more common in baby boys than baby girls but in fact both sexes can and do develop acne. The first acne problems often occur when the baby is between two and three weeks old, but sometimes these problems can occur in babies up to six months of age. In most cases these problems with neonatal forms of acne will resolve on their own, and in most cases additional treatment will not be needed.
